Where I'm Supposed to Be

I began working as the new Development Associate at Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina this week...

And I LOVE it!

I am thrilled to be joining the HCC Development team and look forward to beginning my career at MUSC!

Here is some information about HCC:

"Located at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, the Hollings Cancer Center is the largest academic-based cancer center in South Carolina.
We have united the best cancer treatment
, research, education and shared resources in a single location on the MUSC campus. These resources are extended throughout South Carolina via partnerships with other healthcare organizations, ensuring that all South Carolina cancer patients have access to our innovative care.
The Hollings Cancer Center also offers a number of cancer support services
to help cancer patients know what to expect during the course of their cancer treatment.

In spring 2009, Hollings Cancer Center was named a designated cancer center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This makes us the only NCI designated cancer center in South Carolina-- and one of only 65 in the country."

From the time I walked in the doors to the beautiful lobby of HCC, I knew this was a very special place. I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

A J*O*B

Okay, I have some good news. Some really good news.
I am no longer an unemployed individual. That's right...
I HAVE A J*O*B!
You are now reading the blog of the new Development Associate of Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina!
Can you tell I'm excited?!?! I got the news the Monday after graduation. How is that for timing?
My official start date is June 28th, but I am keeping myself busy until then. Over the past two weeks I have visited home and Columbia to have some much needed time with the parents and with Ammie and Mer. This week I am at Brad's beach house for a few days and I'm also babysitting a good bit to keep some cash flowing. Next week I will be preparing for mine and Ellen's move. Needless to say, it's already turned out to be a fun filled, exciting summer.
I am thoroughly going to enjoy the next few weeks of a vacation because as of June 28th, I have a JOB!
